Year 3 have been busy this week practising their poem for the Poetry Festival. This is a big thing for Year 3, they are performing as individuals in front of the class whilst being assessed so there are quite a few nervous children. They have been brilliant whilst practising with Ms Hart and we wish them lots of luck for this afternoon! “It always seems impossible until it is done.” ~ Nelson Mandela
Today Year 3 have started a new maths topic looking at fractions. They’ve been working out 1/2, 1/4 and 1/3 of numbers through various methods. Initially by folding paper, using bar models, sharing objects and finally using their times tables to divide larger numbers. They’ve done so well and have progressed to work out harder fraction sums. Well done Year 3!
