Year 3 have been investigating the link between the size and strength of magnets by using paperclips to compare the strengths of different magnets.
We looked at a variety of different metals: aluminium, mild steel, stainless steel, copper, lead, cast iron, zinc, brass and bronze. We then predicted which metals would be attracted to our magnets. We thoroughly enjoyed testing out the metals to see which are magnetic. We’ve decided that we need to find some cobalt and nickel to test.
