Pre- School have been celebrating Australia Day learning about the different animals that live in Australia. We decorated boomerangs with dots – just like Aboriginal art work and in ‘Creative Cooking’ we made delicious banana boomerangs!
We have been thinking a lot about Winter and learning about snow and ice – but we’ve not seen much of it outside the classroom! Children collected leaves and forest things during ‘Investigating and Exploring’, we made ice sculptures with them and have put them in the freezer – next time, we’ll take them out and hang them up.
During Forest School, we thought about a pet we would like to have and what we would call them. There were snakes, guinea-pigs, cats and dogs and even a bull and a reindeer. We made our own ‘stick pets’ to look after and they all had a name.
