This week the pupils have shared my love of History. We started our History lessons making a 'pupil timeline' covering historical events. The pupils were given the task of arranging the events in chronological order, which they did brilliantly using teamwork.
Year 3 & 4 have been meeting in the Cedars for a number of valuable buddy sessions. We started with a fun game, pretending to be either an egg, a chicken, a dinosaur, a prince or princess and then finally a Queen or King. The children were very patient, helping to explain the rules to [...]
Today in Science we mixed ingredients to create a chemical reaction. Year 3 thoroughly enjoyed their introduction to Chemistry,. Volcanoes fits nicely into our Rock and Soils Science topic and after all the pupil's hard work with their exams, Ms Hart and Mrs Davies wanted to treat them to some excitement in the Science laboratory. As [...]
The children had an interesting array of items for 'show and tell' this week. First, an authentic gas mask from the Second World War complete in its original box was generously bought in by Mr Gear for us all to see. Nathan brought in a very special medal for us all to look at, which [...]
The children in 3D were all very proud of their rainforest booklets...so proud we had to take a photo under our rainforest display. The booklets will be the central part of our display. Well Done 3D!
Today in Science Class 3D were rock detectives! The children, armed with magnifying glasses, examined a vast selection of rocks helping us to think about the properties of rocks. Next lesson we will be searching the school site looking out for different types of rocks. We may find rocks in places we least expect too! [...]
Thank you to Will, his mum and his rats...the children enjoyed learning about what the rats eat and how to look after them. All of 3D gave the rats a stroke and had plenty of questions! You may find your children asking you if they can keep rats now!
Here are a few members of 3D putting the finishing touches to their wooden cars!
What a fantastic day we had at Cadbury World today! The children were a delight, lots of people commented on what a smart and well behaved group of children they are... Well Done Year 3.
Today in Science we continued making our wooden cars. We had to concentrate really hard to ensure that our axles were straight. Next lesson we need to start thinking about our wheels!
