Year 3 had some special visitors today. Alfred Hough introduced his school friends to his chicks, who hatched out a few weeks ago. The children handled the chicks very well and we all remembered to wash our hands afterwards. Thank You to Mrs Hough for bringing the chicks into school.

Year 3 produced some fantastic Magnet Mazes to help develop our understanding of Magnets and Springs. The children used their imagination to create some wonderful mazes. All staff were amazed at the brilliant work the children had completed. The children really enjoyed testing out each others mazes. Well Done Year 3!
Mrs Wason and I 'treated' Year 3 to some Aztec food delights, as part of our History lesson. We were very impressed at how the children tucked into a selection of Aztec fruits including avocado and mango for starters. What a fantastic day we had at Cadbury World today! We learnt lots about the Aztecs and how important chocolate was to them. We also got to sample some lovely chocolate. Mr D'Arch Smith visited Year 3 today to tell us all about his rain forest conservation work. The children enjoyed listening and looking at the sometimes strange, but wonderful, creatures and plants. Today we enjoyed a morning of circus tricks with 'John the Juggler.' Mrs Davies set Year 3 a Science challenge, to investigate what makes objects shiny? The children held each object up and asked whether or not it was shiny. In our Geography lessons, Year 3 have discovered the continents and oceans of world. With our learning partners, we explored the globes and an atlas to locate and record our findings. Year 3 enjoyed a fantastic forest school lesson in the snow. First they explored the snowy Cedars looking for animal tracks. Then, of course, a snowman had to be built. Year 3 enjoyed having lots of fun in the snow. Mrs Davies
