We are delighted to announce that from September 2021 we will be relocating to a new site at Denstone College.
It will widen the opportunities available for our current and future Prep School pupils and allow them to experience the unrivalled academic and superb pastoral care offered at Denstone College. The relocation aims to provide a seamless transition between Preparatory and Secondary education. We will become One School, One Community. The prep pupils will have access to a wider curriculum and the experienced team of dedicated teaching staff whilst benefitting from the first-class facilities at Denstone College including a larger swimming pool, Astro Turf pitches, state-of-the-art IT, and a large sports hall, featuring a climbing wall. We are also committed to ensuring that the family values and heritage of the current Preparatory School remain just as strong as it joins Denstone College as part of its stunning 100-acre home.

Come and take a look around
When looking to educate your child at an independent prep school in Staffordshire we understand that it is important to find the right place: one that combines excellent standards of education with an environment where they can thrive. That is why we encourage parents to come to one of our open days, where they can meet our staff, existing pupils and their parents and take a look around the school and grounds. Alternatively, if you prefer, you are more than welcome to come along for a cup of tea and a chat before having a personal tour.
Beautiful Surroundings; Excellent Facilities
Denstone College Preparatory School is an inspirational place where young lives blossom. Our prep school classrooms are based in the old manor house, surrounded by landscaped gardens, woodland, extensive sports fields and astro turf pitch. This is complemented by a pool, gym, stage, spacious art block, ICT suite, library, wildlife garden, music block and Chapel.
For younger pupils, Denstone Prep School’s award-winning pre-prep facilities are situated in the quadrangle: a totally enclosed unit designed to encourage learning through play.
There are also plenty of outdoor play areas, including a living willow area, woodland, and adventure playground.
Modern Methods with Traditional Values
We adopt proven modern teaching methods and combine these with the traditional Christian values of good manners, respect and responsible behaviour to provide all our pupils with a dynamic learning environment. This ensures that our pupils are well rounded individuals who thrive both academically and socially and are equipped to deal with any situation both in and out of school.
We work hard to provide a broad and balanced curriculum, encompassing the traditional academic subjects of maths, English, Spanish and science, as well as art, drama, music and sport. Not only is this tailored to meet each pupil’s ability, but our class sizes are small, ensuring that every child gets the one-to-one attention needed to reach his or her full potential.
We are OFSTED registered and have been rated good and often excellent by the Independent Schools Inspectorate (ISI) which rates independent preparatory schools in Staffordshire and across the UK. What is more, many of our pupils go on to receive scholarships for their chosen senior schools.
Jerry Gear, Headmaster
I believe that every single child who comes to our school is capable of achieving greatness. This may be on the games field, it may be in design, music, writing, exploration, technology, art, maths or indeed, any of the other avenues open to us.
