This morning our two Year 5 classes got together to make some water containers.  It may sound a simple task but they were only provided with paper (which they were not allowed to cut), sellotape and scissors (to cut the sellotape only).  The challenge was to make a container that would hold water, the children could use any design, shape and as much sellotape as they wanted.

Once they worked in their pairs to produce a vessel, they came outside to test them.  Tilly and Freddie worked well together and made the container that was able to retain most of the water whilst others were not so water-tight!  The children learned why their containers may not have been so successful and how they could improve on them.
