Year 3 & 4 met in the Cedars for a buddy session. We started with a game of their choice: 40:40. I was impressed to see how the children developed the rule ‘you must be touching the tree or someone touching the tree’ to enable a huge long line that stretched into the woods!
Later we made clay animals using natural materials. Year 4 had been looking forward to this activity, they had fond memories from last year. We had some very creative artists, bringing animals to life with a carefully chosen leaf or stick. Children were most interested to hear about each other’s clay creatures at the end of the session.
These buddy sessions have been a real highlight in our week, the children have worked together brilliantly and supported each other during the trials and tribulations that the start of term can bring.
