Form 3 recently embarked on a very difficult task indeed – deciding what to pack on a two week expedition to the Amazon Rainforest! Working as ‘experts’ in their field, the children met as dieticians, medics, kit supervisors, equipment supervisors and expedition leaders to discuss their specific requirements. They then met back as a large expedition team to decide upon the 20 items they would take in their rucksacks and the order of priority for each of them. As you can imagine, the children had to display strong persuasive reasoning techniques as well as the ability to compromise as they could not take everything!  High up on the agenda for both teams were antibiotics, anti-malaria medicine, mosquito nets and water purifying tablets – very sensible!!
