Smallwood Manor: 11  –  6: Edenhurst

Edenhurst visited Smallwood Manor bringing with them a very strong team who had been able to spend an extra term preparing for this fixture.  Despite this, Smallwood were determined to put on a show for the watching spectators to demonstrate the silky skills they have learned throughout the term.  A few lapses in defence allowed Edenhurst to make a solid start, however, some terrific interceptions from vice-captain Iona and GD Abby H soon steadied the ship and some precision passes out to Camilla, Isabella and Rebecca in attack led to Smallwood to level the score 4-4 at the end of the first half.

With the third quarter ending 6-5, it was all to play for going into the final quarter.  Having used the first three quarters as a warm up, Smallwood came into their own, with excellent displays of dominance of possession, passing, movement, intercepting and dummy dodging.  A goal from Edenhurst was met with swift resistance from Smallwood who then went on the attack.  The rapid movement of the ball proved too much for Edenhurst to deal with and a flurry of five consecutive goals from Rebecca, epitomised by a great team passing movement leaving the final score 11-6 to Smallwood in what was a highly entertaining and competitive match.
