The U9 boys played against The Elms last Wednesday and played some extremely good rugby in parts, considering it was very early in the term. There was some very positive running with the ball and the support play improved as the match progressed. There was no real difference in the ability of the two teams, with tries being scored freely by both sets of players. Smallwood were organised very well but came undone by The Elms tries that were scored after a single pass had found the player to break through the gaps. Smallwood tried to bring other players into the game and at least four tries were scored with the ball moving through at least four pairs of hands. Unfortunately we ran out losing the game, ten tries to nine, but it was a game played in a super spirit with a huge effort given from all of the Year 4 boys.
