The Under 11 rugby team’s winning streak continued on Wednesday with an impressive 20 points to nil win against Grace Dieu. Two tries apiece were scored by William Brister and Charlie Meads, all four tries coming from some excellent handling by the Denstone Prep side. This takes the total tries scored in the past three games to 16 with only 2 conceded.
The team’s defence is key to their success. It really is a team effort, the willingness of the players to make the tackles and when a breach is made to get back and realign. There are no better tacklers than George Hough, Harry Fryer and Charlie Meads, possibly the smallest trio on the pitch. So, it is with well-deserved confidence that we look forward to the coming challenge of playing Derby Grammar School next week.
