The country, and indeed the world, will soon turn its thoughts to remembering D-Day. It will be an important time. For some, it will evoke memories they would rather forget, such will be the trauma they experienced then and re-live each year; we who benefit from their bravery and courage must never forget to honour them. We shall do it in our own way no doubt.

As a school, we have begun to remember. The children’s projects on D-Day have depicted some of the scenes, sanitised perhaps but real to them. They have drawn maps, built models, written up research and even performed and recorded songs from the 40s. It has enabled us to reach back in time .. lest we forget.
