I have just returned from the Woodard Heads’ Annual Conference. There is no other conference like this; Woodard is unique, gathering together into one family a rich variety of schools including long-established public schools, independent junior schools, state academies and now schools abroad. However, there is one common strand: a faith-based culture and practice. It is remarkable how the diversity is subsumed by the aspect of faith which bonds and unites.

Through this we learn so much about ourselves and about others and it is marvellous that Smallwood benefits so greatly from its other family members – it is indeed true that ‘family matters’.
