Hatching Chicks – Thursday 15th June

Well done to Mrs Emmerson-Friend who predicted that the incubated eggs would be hatching today, she was spot on (I think she’s had plenty of experience).  It has been an exciting day with two chicks that hatched at the beginning of the day and over six out by the end of the school day!  Children, […]

John Muir Walk, Monday 12th June

As part of their John Muir Award, our Year 4 children went on a mammoth walk with Mrs Emmerson Friend, Miss Hart and their TAs this morning.  They started at Smallwood Manor and wandered up to the church heading south towards Buttermilk Hill.

Last Day at Ilam!

Last night was our last night at Ilam Hall and the children settled down to sleep very quickly indeed (must have been all that racing around and the fact that we spent a large amount of the day outside).  So, the majority of children needed to be woken up this morning to start their day […]

Recycling Bags

First we designed our bags on a piece of paper.  We wanted to have memories of our trip to Ilam Hall on our bags so we don’t forget our amazing trip.  Once we had our design, we copied it onto our bags using wax crayons.  All of our designs were unique and each one has […]

Team Challenges at Ilam

Wow!  We have had a wonderful day today basking in the glorious sunshine!  One of our activities was “Team Challenges” where the children had four different challenges and they had to work together to try to get to the end result.

One of the favourites was a fun game of stepping stones where they needed to get […]

Orienteering at Ilam

We’ve been busy with activities today and one of them was an orienteering course. The children have been studying maps with Miss Hart in Geography so found the map reading relatively easy … however trying to put their knowledge into practice was very different! They eventually got the hang of looking at the maps and […]
