Investigating 2D shapes

Mystery Readers

Pre- Prep 1 have really enjoyed hearing stories from our Mystery Readers.  A big Thank You to Rosie’s Dad who came dressed in his Police uniform and read a story about ‘Stranger Danger’ and to Imogen’s Mum who read the ‘Gruffalo’ story with lots of exciting and funny voices.

Fire Engine Fun!

What a wonderful surprise for the children in Pre-Prep to see a fire engine drive into the car park. Simon and Lee, fire fighters at Uttoxeter Fire Station, paid us a visit and gave everyone a detailed tour of their fire engine. We were all amazed at how much equipment they carried.

Fruity Harvest Fun!

Well done to all the children in Nursery and Pre-Prep for a wonderful Harvest assembly. All the children sang with great enthusiasm!

   Pre-Prep 2 recreated the story of Handa’s Surprise.

   The Nursery children created  fantastic fruity prints.

 Pre-Prep 1 used amazing adjectives to describe their fruit pictures.

    The Reception children painted their favourite fruits.

People Who Help Us!

Pre-Prep 2 have had a very exciting week with a visit from PC Carroll. The children learnt about the history of the Police, took DNA samples, studied their fingerprints, made some arrests and solved a crime!

Getting Ready for Harvest

All of Pre-Prep and Nursery are starting to think about Harvest.  Last week PP1 enjoyed reading the story ‘Handa’s Surprise’ followed by lots of fun and funny faces tasting a range of different fruits!  The children then worked as a team to write a class poem using adjectives to describe the fruits.  Well done PP1

Reading is Fun in PP2!

The children have settled extremely well into their new PP2 routines. Friday afternoon we shared library books and discovered lots of interesting facts about People Who Help Us, our Michaelmas term topic.
