A Special Treat For Year 3.

Year 3 had some special visitors today. Alfred Hough introduced his school friends to his chicks, who hatched out a few weeks ago. The children handled the chicks very well and we all remembered to wash our hands afterwards. Thank You to Mrs Hough for bringing the chicks into school.

Aztec Come Dine With Me!

Mrs Wason and I ‘treated’ Year 3 to some Aztec food delights, as part of our History lesson. We were very impressed at how the children tucked into a selection of Aztec fruits including avocado and mango for starters.

As you can see from the photos we all had such fun, which […]

Year 3 Science: What makes objects shiny?

Mrs Davies set Year 3 a Science challenge, to investigate what makes objects shiny?  The children held each object up and asked whether or not it was shiny. They decided that the shiny ones are not sources of light, since light is reflected off them and then enters our eyes. We can’t see them when there is no light or when it is dark.

Together we agreed that […]

Forest School in the Snow.

Year 3 enjoyed a fantastic forest school lesson in the snow. First they explored the snowy Cedars looking for animal tracks. Then, of course, a snowman had to be built. Year 3 enjoyed having lots of fun in the snow.
