Thank you to everyone in Main Prep and Pre-Prep who took part in our chapel assembly on Saint George. The older pupils were fantastic at playing the 'choose the cup' game and guessing the mystery person from the clues. The younger children thoroughly enjoyed dressing up and acting out the story of Saint George and [...]
Have you ever been asked to make the world out of play-doh? Well, Form 3 were faced with this task in a recent science lesson when they were asked to construct the layers of Planet Earth using various colours of plasticine. The results, when we cut the plasticine balls open, were excellent and clearly demonstrated [...]
As you can imagine, Form 3 thoroughly enjoyed their trip to Cadbury World. They found out lots of interesting information about how the Aztecs helped chocolate to make its way to Europe and also got to eat some yummy chocolate as they went round the museum! Here are a few pictures to whet your appetite!
Form 3 recently embarked on a very difficult task indeed - deciding what to pack on a two week expedition to the Amazon Rainforest! Working as 'experts' in their field, the children met as dieticians, medics, kit supervisors, equipment supervisors and expedition leaders to discuss their specific requirements. They then met back as a [...]
I think that most children have a natural affinity with sound! Fortunately they also like finding out about it! Pre-Prep 2 have started their mini-project on sound by discovering how sounds are made. They have had great fun feeling the vibrations of a tuning fork and watching it make water splash. Of course they have [...]
Reception and Pre-Prep had a great day on Thursday. They started the morning by using their beautifully decorated eggs for an egg rolling competition. There was lots of laughter, a few cracked eggs and cheers for Hannah from PP2 who was the overall winner of the competition. In the afternoon they had a very [...]
Pre-Prep's Easter Assembly was a wonderful way to start Holy Week. Saint Chad's chapel was decorated with bunnies, eggs, Spring flowers and crosses. The children sang beautifully and spoke very clearly. Reception's poem about a chocolate rabbit was delightful and Pre-Prep 1 told us about Easter symbols. Pre-Prep 2 were very informative about different eggs [...]
I have just found these photos from our science lesson. We were making bread in order to better understand the role of yeast in this process; it was part of our micro-organisms topic. Bread heads!
I realise a few weeks have passed but these shots were too good to leave in our archive. Egyptian day was a lot of fun. We acted out a wedding ceremony, we were helping the priest to practise. As you can see on the photo Philip played the role of happy groom perfectly! I hope [...]
Year 5 had great fun on Monday, travelling over to Telford Park to attempt the high ropes course, climbing wall, zip line and a 35ft drop of the 'Power Fan'. Many of the boys and girls needed little encouragement to have a go and became involved helping each other very quickly. 'Star Pupil' was certainly [...]
