Tasty Treats for Food Committee

Today we spent our break time tasting frozen foods. We tasted strawberry ice cream, strawberry frozen yoghurt and Amber's homemade frozen cherry yoghurt treats. My favourite was Amber's homemade treats. We agreed they were all yummy. Frozen yoghurt is a slightly healthier alternative to ice cream, which is why we organised our tasting session. Mrs McMahon [...]

Lunar Buggies

Continuing their work on light and reflectors, Pre-Prep 2 have started to learn about the Moon. They were fascinated by the thought and images of lunar buggies and were very keen to build their own models. All the children worked really hard to ensure that their model met the specifications eg. a camera, satellite dish, [...]

Whatever the Weather

Reception are learning about different weathers. We have started by looking at rain. We have made rain makers using pasta, lentils and beans. Fabulous Trip to Uttoxeter Museum

We had a really great morning in Uttoxeter. We visited Redfern's Cottage which houses the Museum of Uttoxeter Life. I strongly encourage you all to visit, it is a much under-used local resource.

Using the canopy as a hub or focal point we ventured out to try some tree art, played spelling games on giant [...]

Amazing Mirror Mazes!

Pre-Prep 2 had great fun today investigating mirrors. First they had to think hard to explain how the mirror was used in the mystery objects in the surprise boxes. Then they tried to use mirrors to see around corners and under tables. The next challenge was reflecting torch light around a maze using mirrors. The [...]

Kings and Camels!

Pre-Prep 2 have started the new term really well! After recapping on the story of the Epiphany, they were keen either to be in the 'hot seat' as one of the kings or to ask searching questions. The questions and answers were very inventive - some of the camels had very odd names! The children [...]
