Spring is in the Air!

Form 3 have recently been learning about magnets and springs. Having looked at compression, tension and the potential energy of springs, the children then went on to make some colourful springs of their own. Next week they will be investigating how a spring’s force can be used to make an object move. They will be […]

Big Bones to Demonstrate Joints

We have handled what looked a bit like dinosaur bones in today’s science lesson; they were actually huge joint bones that came from a cow (and an obliging butcher). We looked in detail at a ball and socket joint and a hinge joint and now we understand the sort of movement that is enabled from […]

The Witches!

When shall we three meet again
In thunder, lightning, or in rain?

When the hurlyburly’s done,

I come, Graymalkin!

Paddock calls.

I am sure you will look at the rolled up tubes of card, lumps of sellotape and semi-inflated balloons and think, ‘That looks just like an arm!’. Indeed it is a working model of the antagonistic muscles that pull our […]

Reflecting Cupcakes!

Last week, Pre-Prep 2 had great fun baking chocolate cupcakes and then icing them so that they reflected light. The decorations included tiny, silver balls and glittering stars! I hope that the cakes tasted as good as they looked!

Weather Watching!

Reception have continued their work on ‘Weather’ by making wonderful weather charts and moving the arrow each day to show what is happening outside. Unfortunately the arrow seems to have become stuck on the rain picture! They are also enjoying pretending to be weather forecasters and moving the symbols around the map of Britain. I […]
