The Joys of Carol Singing Over the past nine days our choir has been incredibly busy. They started off singing at St Mary’s in Stafford, part of a celebration of Christmas featuring a number of local schools. Performing at such a venue is always an honour and it was a wonderful experience for our children. [...]
The Pre-Prep ended the term with a wonderful 'Christingle Celebration.' The children sang and spoke beautifully to tell the story of the first Christmas. It was a very moving and peaceful occasion - an oasis of calm at a very busy time!
Thank you to all our cooks who gave us such a delicious Christmas lunch. As you can see, the children really enjoyed it and they looked wonderful in their Christmas hats!
Pre-Prep 2 have created some amazing owl puppets! First, each child chose a British owl on which to base his or her design. The children then made patterns so that their puppets would fit their hands and cut out the felt using their patterns. They were brilliant at sewing around the puppets using blanket stitch [...]
Last Thursday's 'Carols by Candlelight' was a wonderful way to celebrate the birth of Jesus. In the soft glow of candlelight, the choir sang beautifully, the children read the traditional readings clearly and the congregation joined in with gusto! Everyone in the chapel rediscovered the peace and wonder of Christmas.
PP1 had great fun on Friday when James brought his box of jelly babies in to do an experiment. The children wore a blindfold and had to guess the flavour and colour of the jelly baby. They did manage to get some correct! Thank you for sharing your sweets James, it was a fun and enjoyable [...]
Pre-Prep and Nursery excelled themselves today and performed a wonderful Nativity play, 'The Best Gift Of All.' All the children acted, spoke and sang beautifully and told the story of the birth of Jesus from a slightly different angle! Well done, everyone - it was a fantastic Christmas present for your parents and family in [...]
This is the question that Year 4 will be looking to answer this week. We have built some sleighs so we can discuss the technical specifications in order to explain how the vehicle works.
I know that the circus workshop was reported in the newsletter but I thought that these photos might give everyone some idea of Pre-Prep 2's antics! They were brilliant at having a go at everything and persevering when things did not go according to plan!
This week saw our annual visit from Mark, “The world’s best juggler”, to run a series of circus skills with the children. Over the course of the day every child in the school learned some new tricks. Whether it was stilt walking, plate spinning, juggling or tricks with diablos, every single child was fully involved [...]
