I so enjoy wildlife club. It seems we have a winning combination of spectacular surroundings and club members with overwhelming enthusiasm for the outdoors. We do go outside every week, as the nights draw in we are becoming increasingly reliant on our torches to navigate. I thought you'd all like to see some of our brilliant [...]
U11/10 ‘B’ Hockey v Abbotsholme Everybody had some great moments in this game. In defence, despite the cold, Isabella S. volunteered to stay at sweeper for the whole of the game, making some nice clears to the sides whilst McKenzie was keen to stay at left back where she also made some good tackles and [...]
U11/10 ‘A’ Hockey v Abbotsholme Rain nearly put paid to this fixture on Wednesday November 20th but a great opportunity to field both the A and B team couldn’t be missed so the game went ahead and we all enjoyed a good old fashioned run around in the mud! With Caitlin and Abi patrolling at [...]
U10 RUGBY V The Elms The U10’s had their first match against the Elms last Wednesday. The team was ably led by Charlie who was playing out of position in the scrum to give a little more strength to the scrum and he did an excellent job. The game was fast and furious with end [...]
U11/10 Hockey v Chase Grammar On Tuesday November 19th an U11/10 team travelled to the astro pitch at Chase Park for a match against Chase Grammar. It was a bitterly cold day and the girls needed to wrap up warm. The game was played in quarters and by the first interval the score was still [...]

The children had a great lesson exploring how the direction and angle of light can affect the size and length of [...]

What a lovely afternoon we had on Thursday when Mr and Mrs Cross came in to talk to us about the ear. They told us lots of interesting facts about the ear and helped us to make our own version of an ear drum! We had a look inside the ear and did an experiment [...]
Reception have enjoyed learning about Autumn. They have made little books about signs of autumn and painted hedgehogs and squirrels. They have sorted leaves by colour and shape, and weighed the conkers and fir cones. They particularly liked the Autumn Walk and kicking the leaves!
The U9 team made a visit to Leicestershire on the 14th and were well beaten, despite their valiant efforts. The game was played in quarters enabling all nine of the Smallwood Y4 girls to play at least half a match in a variety of positions. Such a large grassy pitch seemed a little daunting and [...]
